Cliff Jumping, “Red Flag” Wrestling, and Chicken Catching
Up here in Trego we can’t believe that the camp is half way over but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to slow down the pace! Over the last couple of days the boys have gone cliff jumping, had their first red flag practice, a blind wrestling session, the bucket brigade, and even had to catch chickens! Monday July 4th was when they got to go cliff jumping, but they had to earn it- with a 9 mile run up to Sunday Lake where the cliffs were. When the boys got back to the school they had their first “Red Flag” practice. A “Red Flag” practice up here basically means that the was one of the toughest wrestling sessions the campers will have to endure during their two weeks up in Trego. The next day was the blind wrestling session where each camper was blindfolded and then had to wrestle their partner. It was definitely a unique experience that was thought of by none other than Coach Cal. Then the boys were headed down to the creek where they would compete as teams in the bucket brigade. Basically each member of the team was given a bucket and had to pass the water from the creek up to the top of the bridge where they then dumped it into a trashcan. The rules were simple, the first team to fill the trash can up won. But the boys didn’t do it once, or twice, or even three times; they filled up buckets and trash cans full of water for a full hour down at the creek! Talk about cross training! And then this morning the boys got the opportunity to catch chickens. Another one of those great cross training exercises- and fun to watch for everyone that was fortunate enough to be there. Basically it was AWESOME! Check back later for pictures of the boys’ latest endeavors- AND a new video is on the way!
